What is exercise physiology?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-qualified health professionals who prescribe and deliver evidence-based movement programs to support people with chronic conditions, pain, injuries, and disability. We focus on improving function, managing symptoms, and enhancing quality of life.

Exercise physiologists also support clients through behaviour change strategies, including education, lifestyle guidance, and motivational interviewing — because meaningful change happens when we support every part of your wellbeing, not just the physical.

At Visible Exercise Physiology, all sessions are offered online, so you can access care from the comfort of your home. Whether you're navigating an invisible condition or working towards feeling stronger in your body, this space is designed with you in mind.

Services

  • Whether you are wondering if you might have an invisible condition, you are already diagnosed and are well into your healthcare journey, or you are looking for help with an injury, our initial consultations can be tailored to anyone.

During the initial assessment, we take a comprehensive health and medical history. We understand that this process can be energy-intensive, especially after a long and emotional journey through the healthcare system. To accommodate your needs, the assessment may be spread over one or two sessions, and we will always move at your pace.

  • In the subsequent consultation, we will go through your individualised plan that we will implement together in later sessions and assist you in incorporating into your everyday life. This plan may involve movement prescription, neuroscience education, and lifestyle management strategies and tools.

This is for intended for someone with a complex health history, has the capacity for a longer session, needs a bit more guidance, recently diagnosed, or needing a little extra time.

    This session may include:

    • A supportive review of how you’ve been going since your last session

    • Adjustments to your current program (especially for pacing, pain, or energy changes)

    • New exercises, movement ideas, or strategies based on your feedback

    • Education around symptom management, flare planning, or goal setting

    • Space to talk through your experience and feel heard

    • Collaborative planning for the next steps based on what’s realistic and sustainable

  • This option suits those who prefer shorter sessions to support their energy and mobility needs, and who have a basic number of strategies for symptoms management with an existing level of knowledge about their condition(s).

  • This is designed for individuals checking in on progress, making small adjustments to your plan, or addressing specific questions. It is a good option if you have more experience managing your condition/s and implement a number of strategies for symptom management.
